Silver Glen Springs ( Google map ) are part of Ocala National Forest located near the second largest lake in Florida - Lake George.

Silver Glen is an attractive, large spring with crystal clear blue water. Its magnificent boiling springs, rated in the top three in Florida, along with its picnic area and outstanding surroundings offer superior recreation - swimming, canoeing, relaxing under the sun and enjoying the scenery, taking a walk along one of the two trails in a beautiful forest.

Fish in abundance swim around you in groups of hundreds. It's quite a site - excellent spot for snorkeling and exploring - you find both saltwater and freshwater fish here. With perfect visibility also an ideal place for underwater photography.

The pool forms a wide run that flows about 0.5 mile to Lake George. Many boats anchor just outside the spring pool in warm months.

The area is for daytime use only - there are no camping facilities in the recreation area. There are, however, a concession stand, portable toilets, picnic tables, and changing rooms for getting into and out of bathing suits. Canoes are available for rent. Hours of operation are from 8 a.m. to dark.

Silver Glen Springs enjoys many visitors every day and could get crowded on a summer weekend.
